Maple Pecans

With the holidays approaching treats are sure to appear everywhere. Nuts are a healthy snack and can be helpful for people who are having a difficult time getting enough calories as they undergo cancer treatment. This simple recipe provides a good source of calories, fiber, and is full of antioxidants.
Makes 4 servings

Per Serving (1/4 cup): 194 calories, 19g fat (1 saturated), 7g carbohydrate, 3g fiber, 146 mg sodium, 2 g protein
• 1 cup raw pecan halves
• 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
• 1/8 tsp cinnamon
Preheat a dry skillet over medium high heat.

Add all ingredients to the pan, cook, stirring frequently, until the syrup is caramelized and the nuts are toasted (about 3 minutes).
Cool the pecans on a sheet of parchment paper, separting them as needed.
Let the nuts cool completely before eating.
